lightCALC advanced – Step 4 – Advanced/Luminaire Once you reach
this section, virtually all the basic decisions regarding the design are
made. At this point it is necessary to
make specific adjustments to the luminaire you originally selected in order to
confirm the correct lamp and ballast combination, or to see how the fixture
would perform with alternative lamps and ballasts.
The
flexibility afforded by this section allows you to create a “virtual” product
from the one previously selected. You
are allowed to change the number of lamps.
You may change the lumen rating of the lamp to match that of another you
prefer. Even the wattage may be
changed.
In order to set the product wattage properly, it is necessary to make an adjustment to the lamp wattage shown under the Advanced-Luminaire tab. Simply take the total input wattage for the product being used and divide it by the number of lamps shown. Insert this value into the wattage box. This will result in LPD information (Watts per square foot) being properly set.
Within this
section, you have control over the luminaire symbol. By making basic adjustments, you can change the size and shape to
meet your needs. Simply change the
information within the boxes, then click the shape designator to get the
graphic depiction you desire.
Should you
wish to change the orientation of the fixture within the space, all that is
required is that you click the pull-down arrow next to the “Rotation” box and
select a new orientation. Once
selected, the direction of orientation will be reflected in the graphic
display.
